Since 1972, Roland has pioneered many groundbreaking technologies and “world’s first” products. In recent decades, no family of Roland instruments has won more respect and acclaim than the revolutionary “V” series: V-Drums, V-Guitar, V-Bass, V-Accordion, V-Mixer, V-Studio and V-Piano.
Each ‘V-Series’ instrument has redefined the traditional boundaries and shattered many preconceived notions of what an instrument can and should be. They break new ground with incredible expressiveness and versatility combined with a simple user interface.
Following on from the incredible V-Guitar (1995) and V-Drums (1997), 2003 was the year that the heralded earth shattering advances in synthesizer technology with the release of the Roland V-Synth.
A new generation in synthesizers, the V-Synth was a classic case of being more than the sum of it’s parts and featured evolved VariPhrase® technology and a COSM® processor for a completely new kind of sound production, as well as V-LINK for the control of images.
Four years later, the V-Synth GT made its triumphant debut as the world’s most expressive synthesizer, utilizing AP-Synthesis that realistically reproduces the sound as played, including changes in expression as well as tone.
The current V-Synth GT Version 2 (available as a free upgrade) boasts a bold new form of sonic expression unknown to musicians until now. Elastic Audio Synthesis has already captivated artists the world over and the V-Synth GT's multi-core engine supercharges the expressive power, and enables sounds to go even deeper.
