V-Mixer

Since 1972, Roland has pioneered many groundbreaking technologies and “world’s first” products. In recent decades, no family of Roland instruments has won more respect and acclaim than the revolutionary “V” series: V-Drums, V-Guitar, V-Bass, V-Synth, V-Accordion, V-Studio and V-Piano.

In 2008 Roland introduced the V-Mixing System, an extremely powerful live audio production solution. It brings all of the advantages of moving from analogue to digital technology while maintaining a simplicity that is winning the hearts, minds and ears of audio engineers the world over.

At the heart of the V-Mixing System is the M400 V-Mixer, which has won an impressive array of live digital mixing console awards. This powerful 48 channel console has a much smaller footprint and weighs less than traditional analogue mixers, and consequently offers a convenience appreciated by mobile and permanent installations alike.

V-Mixing SystemThe backbone of the system is based on REAC – Roland’s Ethernet Audio Communication transmission protocol for low latency, high quality digital audio transfer via Cat5e cable. The system is immune to electrical and radio interference and does not suffer from high frequency roll off over distance as copper does. It’s also exceptionally easy to make limitless and lossless copies of the 40 channels of audio for broadcast, monitoring or recording.

When used in conjunction with Cakewalk’s SONAR, the V-Mixing System can capture up to 40 channels of live multi-channel recording with post-production functions such as mixing, mastering and delivery - all via a simple Cat5e cable connected to the network port on a PC.
