V-Guitar

Since 1972, Roland has pioneered many groundbreaking technologies and “world’s first” products. In recent decades, no family of Roland instruments has won more respect and acclaim than the revolutionary “V” series: V-Drums, V-Guitar, V-Bass, V-Synth, V-Accordion, V-Mixer, V-Studio and V-Piano.

Each ‘V-Series’ instrument has redefined the traditional boundaries and shattered many preconceived notions of what an instrument can and should be. They break new ground with incredible expressiveness and versatility combined with a simple user interface.

The VG8 (V-Guitar) was the first of Roland’s incredible ‘V’ series of instruments and caused quite a stir when it was unveiled back in 1995, thanks to its ability significantly expanded a guitar’s expressiveness.

At the heart of all V-Guitar systems is Roland’s Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM®) technology that ‘models’ many popular guitars and amplifiers.

VG-99
This technology effectively lets you create a wide palette of guitar sounds, by selecting guitar different body types, pickups and positioning, amplifiers, speakers, microphones and much more. The V-Guitar systems are so versatile that it is possible to create set-ups that couldn’t normally exist, like having a pick halfway down the neck.

In the history of guitar modeling, no manufacturer has devoted more time, resources and passion into this market segment than Roland: from the world’s first guitar modeling processor, the legendary VG-8, to the current V-Guitar systems.
